Doula Class

From ancient times, Women have always been taken care of and nurtured during pregnancy, childbirth, and soon after the childbirth. The community would come together to support the new family as they navigated the challenging first few weeks and months with a new baby.

As time went on, the term "Doula" was used to describe these activities. Mother side care providers hire a doula to assist mothers in having the healthiest and memorable delivery experience possible.

A trained doula is a non-medical worker who offers a mother ongoing physical, emotional, and educational assistance before, during, and soon after childbirth.

What does a doula do?

  • Provides support for breathing while paying attention to physical comfort through massage and other touch-based treatments.
  • Gives accurate details about natural pain-management techniques like music, massage, reflexology(massage of a specific part of the body to relieve stress), and aromatherapy (the use of fragrances). They will try out several combinations in order to find the best choice for you
  • Provides emotional comfort and clarifies what will happen during delivery and after delivery.
  • Supports and leads you through every step of the journey.
  • Plays an important role in protecting your rights during the times when you are most at risk, such as during childbirth and the first few weeks after giving birth. They'll make sure that the members of your medical team respect your choices and actually listen to what you have to say.
  • Many of the emotions and physical occurrences that occur during pregnancy, which can be extremely scary and disturbing for the mother, must be understood.
  • Advises you on how to prepare your home and family for a new baby – including the emotional adjustments involved in having a baby.

Benefits of having a doula:

Some studies have shown that continuous support from doulas during childbirth might be associated with:

  • 1. A decrease in the intake of painkillers during delivery
  • 2. A decrease in the number of C-sections
  • 3. A decrease in the length of delivery time
  • 4. A decrease in uncomfortable delivery experiences
